2007 HOLIDAY SEASON HAMPER DRIVE

Hello friends and colleagues,

The Season of Celebrations is just around the corner and our annual Holiday Hamper Drive is being planned right now.

We thought it best to give our donors a heads up regarding our Holiday Hamper family assignments. We plan well for each of our economically disadvantaged families: we know the names, gender, ages, and sizes of all family members, as well as their specific needs. Each year we deliver to their doors, on Christmas Eve, hampers full of household and personal items meant to bring help and joy during a normally deprived holiday season.

5 Special WAYS You CAN HELP:

You can Adopt a Child or a family!
(We have over a hundred families!)
Specific lists for each family (anonymous) are being put together now.
Tell us if you can prepare one or multiple hampers, and the size of family that you prefer. Once our family needs lists are completed we will provide a "Family Needs Sheet" to you or your oganization contact, as a guide to your Hamper preparation.

You can donate a Grocery Card in any denomination!
For each family, we place Grocery cards in their hampers, to assist them in their grocery purchases during the holiday season.  Cash donations to that cause are particularly welcome. Denominations range from $25 to $200 dollars but any size cash contribution can be added to the generosity of others to make up a grocery card gift. We take all monies to Safeway and Co-Op to arrange cards and have them stamped "No Tobacco or Liquor".

You can donate a Gift Card in any denomination!
For each family, we place Gift Cards in their hampers, to assist them in their gift purchases during the holiday season.  Cash donations to that cause are also welcome. Denominations range from $25 to $200 dollars but any size cash contribution can be added to the generosity of others to make up a gift card. We take all monies to WalMart, Sears or Zellers to arrange gift cards.

Donate to our Silent Auction!
Can your business contribute something to our Silent Auction? 
Small or large items are welcomed. The estimated value of goods can be tax receipted (Services are exempt). The proceeds from this auction go towards our Hamper collections.

Go to out website at www.evenstartsociety.org/xmas and select the online donation link. This is a great way to make a contribution to this charitable campaign.

 

 

 




 


If you, your business, your school, or your family would like to contribute to our Hamper campaign, then please contact our fund development representative at evenstart@shaw.ca.

This letter can be printed and posted on your office bulletin board and donations are often made by groups of employees which makes your giving even more effective!

We will be happy to pickup or receive your donation(s) for the children served by EvenStart in partnership with Heartland Agency.

NO DONATION IS TOO SMALL -- what you may think is limited, in aggregate with others' contributions, makes for a very merry holiday for at least 100 families (we're trying to double our help this year!)!

TAX RECEIPTS: Contributions are eligible for tax or business receipt; if you use our online donation form, please check the tax option to be mailed a tax receipt for your donation.
